BACKGROUND
KAMP Group Limited operates an animal feeds milling plant in Anaka town, Nwoya district, and distribution depots in the central region. It specifically produces broiler feeds (starter, grower, and finisher); layer feeds (starter, grower, and finisher); pig feeds; goat feeds; rabbit feeds; and cattle feeds. The company has been steadily expanding its market reach through several distributors selectively located across the country. In its pursuit to continue this expansion and growth, the company is seeking the services of a competent salesperson to lead its sales team.

Role Summary

The role of a Director of Sales is to manage all efforts by the company's entire sales team, strategically planning and steering company growth by employing dynamic strategies that meet customer satisfaction and company growth targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Improving and implementing strategic plans to reach sales targets.
  • Cultivating lasting relationships with customers to grow customer loyalty.
  • Developing and promoting weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives.
  • Drafting detailed and accurate sales reports.
  • Working with customers to better understand their business needs and goals.
  • Assessing costs, competition, and supply and demand to identify selling prices.
  • Estimating sales volume and profit for current and new products.
  • Establishing a sales training program to train new employees.
  • Work closely with colleagues on cross-territory opportunities and other internal teams on marketing materials and cause studies
  • Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Understand and effectively communicate the company's value prop, tech, process, and current partnerships
  • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
  • Effect sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. As well as counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Generate and maintain accurate Account and Opportunity plans
  • Manage and implement the sales forecasting, planning, and buyer-driven sales and marketing processes, establishing high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency for the sales and marketing organ
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams and foster a culture of continuous process improvement
  • Drive the successful implementation and adoption of the sales and marketing automation platforms
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Ensure reports and other internal intelligence and insight are provided to the sales and marketing organ
  • Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the sales and marketing teams providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Market Segmentation, Win/Loss
  • Report on key KPIs related to the lead and the opportunity waterfall to implement a consistent closed loop between marketing and sales
  • Through reporting and analytics, validate the quality of the lead and pipeline data and guide to improve the overall data quality
  • Database management
  • Define contact and account quality standards in the database, defining processes and data acquisition strategies.
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualification:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Sales or any other relevant degree from a recognized university. A master’s degree or other animal production and management/veterinary medicine qualifications will be a distinct advantage.

Experience:
At least 10 years of hands-on experience in sales and marketing preferably in an agribusiness establishment, exposure to dynamic markets, and a proven track record will be critical. Must be a team player comfortable working with targets.
